The AFS New Zealand Alumni website has been developed to help Alumni stay connected, not only with AFS New Zealand but also with each other. The special experiences and bonds that AFS Alumni have in common last a lifetime and we want to aid and facilitate keeping the connections alive for many years to come.  

A Proud Heritage 

AFS New Zealand has over 60 years of providing intercultural learning opportunities for young New Zealanders. We are proud of our history and the stories that are associated with it. In this changing world it is nice to look back and see how an AFS experience was viewed by the media of the day. Some of these articles will make you smile, some will highlight the changes in perception and attitudes in the time that AFS has been around. They do give an insight into the enormity of going on an AFS exchange in the early days that may not be as significant in today's electronically connected world.
