AFS New Zealand Alumni kindly donate thousands of dollars a year to scholarships so that today's AFS'ers can have the same opportunity and experience that they had.

AFS Alumni have helped us set up partnerships with our corporate scholarship providers

100% of the donated funds go to providing scholarships to the next generation of AFS exchange students.

Greyhound Scholarship

Donations from AFS'ers who went to the US between 1947 and 1976, are being used to fund an AFS student to go to the US. This scholarship will be available when donations get to a level to provide the scholarship.

About this Scholarship

 AFS New Zealand is offering one scholarship to a student going to the United States on a year programme exchange. The scholarship will be up to the value of $10,000 and is funded out of the Greyhound Scholarship Fund.

 Who is Eligible?

To be eligible for this scholarship students must:

•  be attending secondary school at the time of application and meet the AFS application guidelines

• be attending a 1-3 decile school and must demonstrate academic achievement, leadership abilities and community involvement

•  This scholarship is available to year programme participants only.

What Countries are Available?

 This scholarship is only available to students going to the USA.

 This scholarship is not being offered for departures in 2012. Please check back in 2012 for 2013 departure scholarships.
